In 2006, as I walked out from a rehearsal with my friend Claire Stroud, Music Director of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City, Georgia, an idea came to my mind. I almost left dismissing the thought, but something told me to go ahead and talk to her. So I shared my thoughts for a concert during the upcoming summer.
Nobody could have guessed what would result from such moment nor the response that the concert would have. The following year, Voices was incorporated as a non profit organization (titled after the 2006 concert) that looks to promote local professional and emerging talent while offering exceptional musical programs.
During the 2007 season, Canto ad una Terra, Song to One World was presented as a benefit for Wellspring Living. Voices raised $2,000 for this cause and offered a memorable night of music with over 100 performers on stage! In 2008, we offered a Fall Benefit and opened the doors to four local charities during December's Christmas Mist.
Voices has become well-known for the quality and eclectism of its unique themed productions, which draw from many different styles of music: contemporary, mainstream, world, folk, crossover, classical, operatic, an on and on and on. The key is how the music flows and the message it is looking to convery as we always aspire to be "beautiful sounds that open the hearts of humankind..."
